J42 – Privacy Policy

J42 is a couple-bonding app that encourages partners to connect through games, questions, and shared reflections. We collect only the information necessary to operate the App, provide features, and enhance your experience. We never sell your data.

• Device type and operating system
• App version and usage statistics
• Crash reports and performance analytics (e.g., via Expo or Firebase)

• Your marketing preferences (if you opt in)
• Feedback or support requests sent to us

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, personalize, and maintain your in-app experience;
• Enable gameplay features such as partner linking, shared progress, and rewards;
• Process in-app purchases and transactions;
• Improve app performance, stability, and security;
• Send optional updates, rewards, or marketing messages (only if you consent);
• Respond to your feedback, bug reports, or support requests.

4. Partner Linking

When you choose to link your account with a partner’s, we will store and display certain information to your partner, including your name, responses, and progress in shared games. Linking is entirely optional and requires mutual consent. You can unlink at any time from your settings.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share limited data only in the following cases:

• Service Providers: We may use trusted third-party providers (e.g., Firebase, AWS, Stripe) for hosting, analytics, and payment processing. These providers are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
• App Functionality: Certain data (like your in-game answers) may be visible to your linked partner for gameplay purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the App’s services and comply with legal obligations. If you delete your account, most personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, except as required for legitimate business or legal purposes.

7. Marketing Communications

We will only send promotional emails or marketing updates if you have explicitly opted in (e.g., via “Yes, keep me in the loop with cool stuff 💌”).

You may withdraw consent at any time by adjusting your settings. Unsubscribing from marketing will not affect service-related communications.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no online system is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

J42 is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such data, it will be deleted promptly.
